When a patient is seen in the WestSound Orthopaedics clinic in Silverdale, Washington, one of our Physician Specialists or their PAs (Orthopaedic Physician Assistants) will provide a thorough orthopaedic examination and evaluation. Orthopaedics involves the diagnosis and treatment of bone, joint, tissue, and nerve disorders of the back, extremities, and neck. Once complete, additional testing may be ordered to further identify a proper diagnosis so that the appropriate treatment can be obtained. All treatment options will be discussed thoroughly and additional information will be provided to assist patients in making the best individualized treatment choices.
Often, surgical intervention is the appropriate treatment option for an injury or condition. In such cases, a surgical evaluation—including a thorough history and physical as well as pre-operative testing—will be completed.

Reducing Health Risk Factors for Surgery
As your orthopaedic providers, we care about your health and well being. In providing any treatment for your orthopaedic condition, we must consider any and all risk factors that would seriously affect the outcome of any orthopaedic procedure. Our orthopaedic physicians will discuss all of your risk factors with you and the treatment options available. Excess weight or being extremely under weight can be considered risk factors for a surgery.
