About Physical Therapy

Silverdale Physical Therapy

Physical therapy can help you recover from an injury and avoid future injury by reducing pain in the soft tissues (muscle, tendon, and ligaments) improving flexibility, function, and strength.

Physical therapy can help you live more easily with chronic or ongoing health conditions. Your physical therapist will work with you to establish goals, then create a program of educational, range of motion, strengthening, and endurance activities to meet your needs.

Our Physical Therapy Services

Patient Education - We teach patients about their conditions and what to do to minimize their symptoms and maximize their function.

Exercise Training - In our clinic, exercise training is the cornerstone of success. All of our patients receive some form of exercise training to help improve range of motion, strength, balance, and endurance, which in turn can help reduce pain and improve function.

Home Exercise Program - A customized home exercise program is part of our rehabilitation program. It is important for patients to complete exercises at home to reach the best possible outcome.

Modalities - Modalities are used to reduce pain and inflammation. Hot packs, cold packs, and ultrasound are heating and cooling agents that are used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation and speed healing. Electrical stimulation is a method of treatment used to excite nerve and muscle tissue for the purposes of acute or chronic pain relief, neuromuscular reeducation, and prevention of disuse muscle atrophy.

Manual Therapy - Manual therapy is a passive treatment technique that uses the therapist’s hands to move a mobile segment for the purposes of examination and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders such as muscle spasm, myofascial restriction and joint compression.
